uPic is to the photography industry what Uber was to the transportation industry: disruptive and on-demand.
Type of business
uPic’s goal was to create an on-demand platform (or gig platform) that connects photographers to users in need of last-minute or in-the-moment photos. It bridges the gap between customers and photographers in a simple and effective way: users can request a photographer to their location, and photographers can book jobs and get paid for their work.
Given the type of service, uPic approached Swenson He knowing that they needed a mobile app that was a memorable and flawless take on a new kind of gig platform. Swenson He’s experienced designers helped bring the idea to life and designed a user-centric, seamless experience that would be a stress-free instant booking system for both users and service providers. Swenson He’s experience with both creative media apps and gig-economy platforms resulted in a unique esthetic and intuitive user experience, both essential to the success of the final high-quality product built by our engineers.
“When you put something out there, people look at you like you’re a million-dollar company so things need to work! (…) You need a team that understands the mission and makes the best product on the first try. That was the best take-away with Swenson He.”

The final product is an elegant application that is one of a kind and the spearhead of a new service offering. Users can browse portfolios, select and book nearby photographers, and preview pictures before purchase. You don’t need to be a famous influencer with a pro photographer. With a tap of a finger, you can instantly book a photo-shoot and capture breathtaking images on-the-go!
